As you know, one of the most important things newly engaged couples have to do is pick a wedding date. In fact, that’s really the first thing that has to be done because without a date, it’s practically impossible to plan a wedding! While weddings are always special days to remember, many couples want their actual wedding date to be special which can make selecting a date difficult. Below are a few ideas if you are trying to decide on a wedding date.
- The First Date – If you can remember the exact date of your very first date together, then scheduling your wedding for that date is a great way to honor the date that brought you both together forever!
- A Family Member’s Birthday/Anniversary – If you are very close to someone in your family, then planning a wedding for his/her birthday is a unique way to recognize how important he/she is to you. Perhaps you have a grandmother and grandfather whose relationship has been an inspiration to you (and your fiance), getting married on their anniversary is another unique way to honor these special people in your life.
- Special “Yearly” Dates – Every year, it seems like there is an opportunity to get married on a historical date. For instance, this year it happens to be today: 11/11/11 and next year, it will be on 12/12/12…dates like these only happen once every century which is why so many couples gravitate to these days. However, you don’t have to get married on a date like this for it to be a special “yearly” date. For instance, you could get married on October 11, 2012 and it would be 10/11/12. There are many ways to play with the dates if you are looking to make your wedding date special and easy to remember!
