Spring Break Family Plan Ideas

I can’t believe that I’m already talking about spring break! It seems like we just started this school year and here we are starting to think about what we are going to do with the kids for spring break. Speaking of that, what are you and the kids going to do over spring break? Do you have any big plans for the week-long holiday?

Honestly, my husband and I haven’t thought too much about how we are going to spend the kids’ spring break. The last two years, we have spent it here at home, but this year I think we are going to do something fun, as a family, for at least part of the break. After all, we are only going to get one chance at getting these family memories while our children are young, so we better get at it. The only thing left to decide is what family activity should we choose to do over spring break?

Camping – I can remember camping with my parents as a young child and those were some of the best childhood memories I have. Learning how to fish, roast marshmallows over an open fire, tell stories around the fire and sleeping in tents…aren’t those things all children should get to experience? Camping is definitely an activity that has the potential to bring families closer together. Start/Complete a Family Project – I am a bit of a farm girl, so I also have memories of building fence, building/working on sheds, painting and landscaping with my family during the school “off” weeks. These are memories that I would like to instill in my children as well so starting and completing a family project over spring break is definitely not out of the question.
